Debt Doesn't Have to Be Part of Your Identity

or any mistake you've ever made.

The Hidden Weight You're Carrying (That’s Not Yours)

This week, I unpack something many men suffer from but rarely talk about—lone soldier syndrome.

It’s that belief that doing everything alone makes you stronger.

That hiding your struggles—especially around failure, shame, or finances—somehow keeps you safe.

For me, it was business debt. I carried it like a scarlet letter, thinking it defined me. I made some bold bets early on—some worked, some didn’t. But over time, the shame of the ones that didn’t became part of my identity. I stopped being the guy who could be funny, who could breathe. I became the guy who messed up and never recovered.

That all changed at a men’s retreat this weekend. I finally shared what I’d been holding.

And you know what happened? Nothing. No rejection. No judgment. Just love.

Just like when I once shared my mental health diagnosis years ago, it set me free.

This episode is about putting down the invisible weight you have carried for so long that you think is part of who you are...

A mistake isn’t an identity. It’s just a moment.

Watch the video. Then ask yourself: what story are you ready to rewrite?

And if you want to talk—I’m here.
